A graduate from the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania where he read economics, he joined his father’s organization and worked in the real estate market. He has since gone on to become a controversial, but extremely successful real estate developer. One of his early successes was the opening of the Grand-Hyatt in 1980. His later successes however make this one pale in comparison, one of which was his acquisition of the largest hotel casino in the world, the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

In 1977, he got married to Ivana Zelnickova Winklmayr, who was a model and an alternate on the Czech skiing Olympic team. They later got divorced and he is currently on his third marriage. Faced by near bankruptcy, Trump was able to climb back and pull his corporation out of the red. He was a major star in the hit TV series The Apprentice and recently indicated an interest to run for the Presidential elections, which he eventually stepped down from.

Although Donald Trump is seen as a brash and controversial figure, with his outspokenness, he is no doubt an inspiration to many.
